MLC with my favorite hard-working Missionaries :)

Last month's MLC picture in the snow! It didn't turn out exactly like we all wanted...we were trying to blow clouds of cold air to make an intense picture.. instead we just look like we're all singing haha. But...MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Also, side note...This is my sweet compañera de cuarto from the MTC. Her Christmas Card beats all! Gotta love Hermana Isaak. Oh how I miss this sister missionary!

You can take the girl out of Idaho, but you can't take Idaho out of the girl. Just a little Idaho pride in the great state of New Mexico. I love visiting the family who lives here. Feel like I'm goin home every time we do.
Our new District at lunch...the lady behind us was so funny and wanted to be in the picture too...:)
Balloon sighting of the week #1
Sighting #2...these people fly year round :)
So we had 'a bit' of a photography moment the other day during lunch...though I'd send one  of Sister Adam's genius photos.
Everyone around here seems to be in the Christmas Spirit...it's kinda fun. "Rudolph the minivan"
We are helping to decorate around here and look who I found??....
Happy December everyone!

French Toast makes a happy missionary!

Can I just say how wonderful it is being a missionary?! I am so happy! We started talking with everyone. Absolutely anyone who was outside, getting in their car, waiting for the bus...we didn't let one single person pass us by. That's the secret...talking to the Lord's children. So simple! There is the sweet assurance that the Lord takes care of His missionaries in my heart. Have a fantastic Thanksgiving! ...No worries we have a very nice English family feeding us Thanksgiving dinner this week so we are well looked after.

I was in a picture taking mood this week...so get ready! get set!

Sister Dennis...mi amiga de la oficina...LOVE this dedicated secretary! Without her...NONE of our baptisms would be official. :)
...Rio Rancho District picture before transfers this week...unfortunately one of my favorite Sisters is cut out of the picture...
So...she gets her own picture haha
These good Elders are handing over their area to us in good condition...they were great to work with and sad they are leaving our District!
And then there's...the Zone Leaders...how we shall miss them! It's nice to have great Zone Leaders to work with as Sister Training Leaders. We rely on their help so often. Good times :)
YEP! ...It's beginning to look a lot like CHRISTMAS!! Finally.
Tip for future missionaries...when struggling with ANYTHING: Just make time to make some French Toast.
It cheers you right up! (*add Buttermilk syrup as needed*)

So we know that Brother Laws is a Dallas Cowboy fan...so, our Christmas present to him.......
We were outside as it was snowing right before going home for the night and this PERFECT snowflake fell on Sister Adam's coat...seriously, look at this thing! God is real and He definitely appreciates the beauty of small details.
 We even got some snow!
So cool story!
We were at the airport this morning greeting the new missionaries coming in and Sister Adams and I started a simple conversation with a lady by saying we liked her coat and that it looked so nice and warm. She came over to us later after talking with her and just gave us her coat! Sister Adams had mentioned she needed a new winter coat anyways...oh my goodness. Some people's kids. WE are the ones who should be giving OUR coats to other's. Not the other way around...sweetest lady. Definitely have plenty of Christ-like people walking around us everyday. You just have to go up and talk to them.

Just being a MISSIONARY:)

This week we taught a really good lesson to a part member family and are working on getting their daughter on a baptismal date. Look at all these hard-working missionaries!

Sister Adams and I with the Laws...wonderful people!
Just one of our many MLC pictures...more to come hopefully :)
This is what kind of a wonderful mother God gave me...I love how she always ends her letters...JBAM (just being a mom). Her package this week definitely had me giggling. Ah well, this will definitely be put to good use. Thanks Momma! I love you!:')

Happyishly Sick

<Alli here...I was e-mailing Sister Silva yesterday and she mentioned that she's been pretty under the weather this past week...but oddly enough, "happyishly sick". Made me laugh! Definitely an Emily-coined term! She loves being a missionary...even on a cough syrup diet!>
Guess what? Another MLC come and gone...always learn so much though. And always lots of shoes.
Definitely back up north! Daily sightings now*

PS- side note...I know the Halloween outfits weren't that creative! haha not much a missionary can do :) Sheesh dad!

Happy Halloween from Rio Rancho!

By the way...look what I found! It's still around even after all these years. It's actually a dentist office I think haha.
Yummy food every Monday with the Elders at our favorite little Brazilian lady's house. Such a sweetheart and she makes a banquet for a king every time we are there. Some members...good grief...they sacrifice so much for the Lord's servants.
Super funny but as we were driving the other day I did a double take and for a split second I thought this was a temple. We now call this our Rio Rancho Temple
So for Halloween we showed up at the Branch's Trunk or Treat to find our Ward Mission Leader looking like this. The very essence of what a WML should be, am I right? Too cool...too cool. ;)
We couldn't do much for Halloween...but we tried. ;)

Horse Country

 sigh** Horse Country.
This is exactly what we are trying to convey to our investigators...glad someone else agrees with us...also...fastening your seatbelt is a good thing too.
Can I just say one thing...POMEGRANATE SEASON!! ..Missing my best friend ;')
So one of the plus sides of my calling is being able to travel to different parts of the mission. Heading up North this week, here are but a few of the reasons why I love my New Mexico.
What happened to the dirt and rocks that I'm so used to??

Beautiful morning drive :) appreciating my Heavenly Father's creations.
Our morning walk behind our apartment...best place for companionship study right?!
Saw this picture of one of the little kids book in our branch this Sunday and couldn't help but laugh.
Dear Family...
HAPPY HALLOWEEN from Hermana Silva y Hermana Adams!!
Love you...
Never mind the Christmas Tree behind the door there...

Rio Rancho!

I met the sweetest sister missionary who just arrived to the mission on Tuesday. Her name is Sister Van Wagoner from Utah. She came up to greet me and introduce herself and by the end I was hugging her and tearing up like crazy. She told me that she found my blog and started reading it right at a critical point in her life where she was trying to figure out if she should serve a mission. My blog was one of the reasons that she received her answer to serve. She then put in her papers and got her call to Albuquerque, New Mexico!!!!!!! I am so astonished at how many blessings the Lord has shown me through my service as a missionary. I never in a million years would have thought that I could make such a difference. It was such a treat to meet her and I can already tell what a wonderful addition she is here to this mission. So grateful that she is here. She is also going down South to a great zone ;) Hope to get to know her better in the future.
Saying goodbye to Santa Claus :)

I love this family! By far some of the most wonderful people who walk the earth. So grateful for them in my life and grateful for the opportunity I had to teach them.

Leaving my sweet companion, who became such a true friend!

Driving up with Sister Moulding (we were the only two South sisters from our Zone going up North)...her and her string cheese. ;)
Sister Adams is my new companion! Hallelujah I LOVE this sister. We served in Mission Trails barrio together down in El Paso before so I know her well.
Grateful the Lord has sent me with such a consecrated and hard worker. :) So blessed!
This is my HOME! ....for only a week and then we are moving into a new apartment. Sad day!

Studying outside :) ...with our horsies.
PS...THERE ARE TREES HERE!! ...AND THEY'RE CHANGING COLORS! ;) haha
